The membership of Risen King Bible Church most solemnly and joyfully believes God's Word teaches the following.
The Verbal Inspiration of the Bible
We receive the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired of God in the original documents, infallible, inerrant, and God-breathed, a perfect rule of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; Proverbs 30:5). Therefore, it is the supreme and final authority on all matters on which it speaks.
The Triune God
We believe in the one, triune, Creator-Redeemer God whose story the Bible tells; eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; being equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious roles in the great work of redemption. God is self-sufficient and self-sustaining, needing no other being for His existence. We believe God created all things out of nothing and pronounced them good (Genesis 1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:1-3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 1:3-14).
God the Father
We believe God is the only Supreme Being with no gods created before or after Him in all of existence, in all places, in all time (Isaiah 43:10, 44:6, 44:8; 1 Timothy 1:17). He is holy (Revelation 4:8), eternal (Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 57:15), sovereign (Isaiah 45:7-9; Jeremiah 32:17; Ephesians 1:11; Colossians 1:16-17), omnipotent (Jeremiah 32:17, 27), omnipresent (Psalm 139:7), and omniscient (1 John 3:20). He is love (1 John 4:8, 16), light (1 John 1:5), spirit (John 4:24), truth (Psalm 117:2), and Creator (Isaiah 40:12, 22, 26). As such, He is to be worshiped (Genesis 24:26; Exodus 4:31; 2 Chronicles 29:28; 1 Corinthians 14:25; Revelation 7:11). He is to be served (Matthew 4:10; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Philippians 3:7; 1 Thessalonians 1:9; Hebrews 9:14). He is to be proclaimed (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:14-15).
God the Son
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and the incarnate Word. Being fully God and fully man, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin according to the words of the prophets; He lived a sinless life, felt emotions common to the human experience, died a substitutionary death on a cross for the sins of the world, was buried, and arose bodily from the dead three days later; He ascended to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes on our behalf as our only mediator before the Father, awaiting the day He returns in power and glory to judge the living and the dead (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1-18; Acts 10:34-43; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:14-18; Hebrews 9:25-28).
God the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son. As part of the triune godhead, the Holy Spirit was active in creation, works to sustain creation, and empowers people for God’s purposes. He also is the agent of the new birth through conviction and regeneration. The Holy Spirit illumines, indwells, fills, seals, and, upon conversion, gives spiritual gifts to Christians for the building up of the Body (Genesis 1:2, 26; 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, 3:16, 12:1-11; Ephesians 4:30).
Humanity
We believe that God directly created man and woman in His image and likeness for fellowship with Himself and to carry out the creation ordinances by being fruitful and multiplying, filling the earth, subduing it, and having dominion over every living thing that moves on the earth; that Adam sinned and that through his disobedience the entire race was alienated from God and is born depraved and totally lost (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7, 15-25; John 3:18; Romans 3:23, 6:23; James 3:9). We further affirm that all human life is sacred and to be protected (Psalm 139:13-16).
Sin
We believe sin is fundamentally an offense against the person and character of God and that it entered the world through the action of one man, Adam (Romans 5:12).
We believe sin has corrupted all of creation and brings death to all humanity. Accordingly, all men and women stand condemned before God as sinners by nature and by choice (Genesis 3; Romans 3:23; 5:12-21; 7:18-23; 8:18-25; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Ephesians 2:1-3; Titus 1:15-16; James 1:14-15).

Salvation
We believe God freely justifies His people by granting them faith in the sinless life, shed blood, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ. This faith receives and rests on Christ and his righteousness alone. Thus, believers are born again by grace through faith apart from works and adopted into the family of God to honor Him in word and deed (John 3:16-18; Acts 4:8-12; Romans 5:1-9; 8:15; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:4-6; 2:8-10).
Angels
We believe angels are spiritual beings created by God. Angels are personal, moral, and powerful, yet finite, beings who serve God's purposes and execute His will. They exist to glorify God, minister to His people, and participate in the governance of the created order (Psalm 91:11; 103:20; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:14; Revelation 5:11-12).
A Personal Devil
We believe Satan is a personal being, that he is a fallen angel, that he is the deceiver of humanity, and that someday, God will cast him into the lake of fire (Ezekiel 28:13-14; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9-10; Revelation 20:10).
Heaven, The New Earth, and Hell
We believe heaven is a place prepared for all born-again believers until that day God’s presence restores and returns to a new earth where all is made new. We further believe that hell is a place prepared for Satan, his angels, and those who die in unbelief (Matthew 25:41; John 14:1-6; Revelation 20:14-15; 6:1-5).
The Church
We believe that God has established the universal Church, the body of Christ, which is composed of all born-again believers with Christ as the only Head of that Church (Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Colossians 1:18; 1 Peter 2:9-10).
We believe that local churches are organized manifestations of the universal Church and should be comprised of baptized believers associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel (1 Corinthians 1:2; Galatians 1:2; Philippians 1:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:1).
We believe the local church gathers to worship God and experience His presence through the preaching of the Word, believers’ baptism, the Lord’s Supper, prayer, and fellowship. The church then disperses to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples who embody the Kingdom values of love, righteousness, peace and joy. By loving God, serving others, and caring for creation, we anticipate the redemption of all things at Christ’s return (Matthew 28:20-21; John 17; Acts 2:38, 42-47; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34; Ephesians 4; 1 Peter 2:12).

Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe Jesus gave two ordinances to the church, baptism of believers by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.
We believe baptism by immersion is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and is a testimony to the world of the believer’s faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:1-5).
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic ordinance, picturing Christ’s body given for our sins and His blood shed for our redemption. The Lord’s Supper is not a saving ordinance but serves to remember Jesus’ death while anticipating His return (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34; 1 Corinthians 10:16).

Our Hope
We believe the Word of God offers perpetual hope for the believer. God wins. Jesus Christ will come again to the earth— personally, visibly, and bodily— at any moment to deliver this world from Satan’s power and consummate his kingdom and the eternal plan of God (Romans 8:18-25; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-5:11; Revelation 20).
We believe there will be a bodily resurrection and final judgment of the just and the unjust resulting in the everlasting blessedness of believers and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost (John 5:28-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-22:6). God will complete His plan of redemption with a new heaven and a new earth where God will make His dwelling among His redeemed people in the unhindered joys of the renewed creation (Revelation 21:1-22:7).

The Christian Life
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ commands all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15). Obedience to the Great Commission requires total commitment to “Him who loved us and gave Himself for us” (1 John 4:10). He calls us to a life of self-denying love and service and to afford every person with compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31).
We believe the Bible is the complete authority on handling conflict and commands Christians to make every effort to live at peace and to resolve disputes in private or within the Christian community (Matthew 5:23-24, 18:15-20; 1 Corinthians 6:1-8).

Marriage
We believe that Adam and Eve's union as man and woman models God's design for marriage and perpetually stands as God's loving and righteous will for human sexual intimacy (Genesis 2:18-25; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4). Marriage is a lifelong, sacred covenant instituted by God and is intended to express the "one flesh" union of a biological man and a biological woman. The marriage union reflects the unity of our triune God by demonstrating Christ's abiding love for the Church and the unifying power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:22-23).

Family
God has created the institution of marriage and family and has given parents final earthly authority over their children. Parents are to be committed to raising their children according to the Biblical standards set forth by God and believe these standards to be unwavering. God is the final authority over mankind and the final authority over parents and children (Deuteronomy 6:7-9; Psalm 47:2; Ephesians 6:1, Colossians 3:20).
Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life (Genesis 1:27; 2:7; Exodus 20:12-17; Numbers 35:11-12; Matthew 22:34-40; James 1:27).
This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God–our final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind–is the sole and final source of all that we believe.
